Questions
What should a payslip include?
The employer's name, the employee's name and ID, the pay period, days paid, each earning (basic, HRA, allowances), each deduction (PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS) and the net pay. Under the labour codes, employers must give wage slips, and electronic slips are allowed.
Why is the PDF marked as a sample?
Payslips are proof of income, so only the employer's payroll should issue them. This page shows the correct format and the maths; employers who need real payslips can issue them from Dervo HR & Payroll or their own payroll system.
Can I make a payslip for myself?
No. Only your employer can issue your payslip. If you need payslips for a loan or visa, ask your employer's HR or payroll team. A payslip you make yourself, or one with changed figures, is a false document.
Are the PF, ESI and professional tax figures exact?
They follow the standard rates: PF at 12%, ESI at 0.75% when gross is ₹21,000 or less, and the Tamil Nadu or Karnataka professional tax rules.
