GST calculator
Add GST to a price, or take it out of a price that already includes GST, and see the CGST, SGST or IGST split.
How it's calculated
- Add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100; total = amount + GST.
- Remove GST: price before GST = amount ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100); GST = amount − price before GST.
- Within a state, the GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. Between states it is all IGST.

Questions
What are the GST rates now?
Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall under 5% or 18%, with 40% for a small list of luxury and sin goods. IT, software and consulting services are usually 18%. Check the rate for your HSN or SAC code.
How do I remove GST from a price?
Divide the GST-inclusive price by 1 plus the rate. For 18%, divide by 1.18: ₹1,180 includes ₹1,000 plus ₹180 GST.
